Bus seat = roomier than an economy plane seat.

We took a bus from Oslo, Norway to Karlstad, Sweden where we changed to a train bound for Stockholm, Sweden. Total travel time 7 hours but we listened to music, read books, and watched the countryside pass by our window. It went by fast.

The train station, like many places in Europe, had a toilet that required payment to use, but a kind gal about my age with lots of tattoos and a shaved head held the door open and offered for me to go after her without paying. Shh! Don’t tell! πŸ˜‰

This is the train station in Karlstad, Sweden.

Funny enough, several days later we met two friends in their 60’s who were in Stockholm for a girls weekend and were so funny and friendly. We asked where in Sweden they lived and they said it was small and we wouldn’t have heard of it… but it was Karlstad. β™₯

A very comfortable train ride with plug-ins to charge our electronics and food service too plus self-serve hot coffee.

COO packing (carry-on only) is the best way to go for this kind of travel. You could bring a full size suitcase, but try COO if you haven’t before… you may never go back!

The pictures aren’t great since most of them were taken out the window of a moving bus, but I couldn’t stop taking them.
