The. New. National. Museum. Is. So. Cool.

Nasjonalmuseet opened in June 2022 with a big party attended by the King. We visited on 8 Nov 2022 and could’ve easily spent 12 hours there.

The layout is meticulously designed to have lots of rooms and options for current and future displays, the free app and audio guides are top quality, there’s even an activity in every single room to keep children entertained and learning.

The highlight is of course the Edvard Munch (pronounced ‘Munk’) exhibit. Norwegian painter from Oslo and best known for The Scream—which you recognize from its emoji but I know you’ve heard of the painting also! 😱

My husband and I both are museum nuts and art fanatics, but we weren’t prepared for the emotion you feel looking at this piece.
