DFDS Ferry Copenhagen to Oslo
We’re on the DFDS Ferry! We left Copenhagen at 3:00 PM and will arrive in Oslo 10:00 AM tomorrow. Most on this ferry are business travelers, truckers, and families… I assume going to visit extended parts of their family? That’s a way to say we are the only ones who seem to be on ‘vacation.’ Which also maybe explains why we seem to be the only ones taking advantage of the 24/7 self-serve complimentary beer/wine/coffee/snack bar and the gorgeous views.
We started the day with a leisurely brunch at Wulff & Konstali an every-day-of-the-week brunch restaurant with a small plates concept. There are 4 locations in Copenhagen. You guys, it was even raining a little bit outside! The food and the ambiance were both perfect. 10/10 would return. Dantan was getting a little worried that we would make the ferry, but for once I was the calm one.
Rates for a room on the DFDS Ferry start at $120 per room; not per person! We can’t even book a decent hotel in Ohio for that price so we did upgrade to a room with a balcony just for fun, plus it includes our transportation and the views have been incredible. The inside looks just like a regular cruise ship with multiple restaurant/bar/cafe options, is super clean, and practically empty!
Tips if you try this:
1) Our rate was cheap and available last-minute because it was the off season (we went in November 2022).
2) Make sure you select a room if you want a good night’s sleep because they do offer seated options starting at $50 per person.
3) Look for a coupon — we found one for $7 off.
4) The website gave us a bit of trouble booking yesterday because it assumes you’re bringing a car thankfully Dantan brought his laptop and the site worked fine that way. (Avoid this by booking in advance, and not the night before.) 🙃
We woke up well-rested and ready to explore Oslo! We dropped our bags at the hotel and went straight to the Nasjonalmuseet to see the Scream (post about that here).
